F2 Butterflies!

In F2 for the last half term we have watched our tiny caterpillars transform. We noticed how the caterpillars got bigger, hairy and gain colours on their bodies. We were very excited when they made a chrysalis. When we came back to school today we were all very surprised to find butterflies in our classrooms! We gave them some fruit to eat because butterflies like to eat sweet fruit juice and nectar in flowers.
This afternoon we took them out onto the field to release them. It was a truly magical moment watching them flying round and landing on us!
All afternoon we have enjoyed spotting them flying around our outdoor area. We hope to spot them outside again soon!
