Today we looked at how people can celebrate Pancake Day and found out some people have pancake races. We decided to make an obstacle course for our pancake race. We had to carefully weave our way round the cones, step along the stepping stones, balance along the bricks, and finish the race by flipping the pancake! We all had great fun!
We hope you enjoy reading about our work and will take time to leave us a comment or two.

Denim for Diabetes day
We like to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting the Denim for Diabetes day. We are delighted to say we raised £507.90 for the local support group of Diabetes Uk. The day was organised by one of our students, Amelia. She did a superb day of raising awareness throughout the day.
F2 dragon dance
F2 were delighted to celebrate all their learning about Chinese New Year by performing a dragon dance through the school. We took the dragons we had made, musical instruments and colourful scarves. We called out "Kung hei fat choy!" to the rest of the school. We hope you all enjoyed the dragon dance.

How many hungry caterpillars?
KS1 were visited today by 'West End in Schools' who bring books to life through dance. We all had a meeting with our dance teacher at the start of the day and she explained what the West End in
London is. She also showed us some of her dance skills.

London is. She also showed us some of her dance skills.
We then split into classes and had individual sessions. We started off by warming up our bodies as this is really important. We then listened to 'The Hungry Caterpillar' and discussed the story. After this we started to learn a dance that told the story of 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. We all did really well and had great fun. Watch out for more photos and videos on our big screen and in our gallery.Mrs Everingham

Valentine's Parent Craft in F2!
We were so happy with the high number of parents who were able to attend our F2 Valentines Craft Session! If you missed out, look out for the Easter event.
...We were even more impressed with the high level of enthusiasm, it must be the reason we have such a creative cohort!
Thank you for your 'lovely' support, it was a treat to see the children communicating with you and happily working together in our academy!

Book Fair Books
Many thanks to all of you who visited the book fair we had before Christmas. As a reward for all the books you bought, we were able to get nearly £800 worth of free books. The books have arrived and have today been dispatched to various places around school.
These books have been added to the Year 3 and 4 book corners.
Finally, these books will be added to the Y5 and 6 book corners.
We will continue adding to the book corners in all classes with the funds we raise from our next book fair.
We could not do it without your support, so thank you once again.

The Wold Academy Snowman
Today F2 had so much fun exploring the snow. The first challenge was to get ready, fastening our own coats, putting boots on and wrapping up in hats, scarves and gloves.
We built a snowman, which was named The Wold Academy Snowman! We travelled on a sledge, made snowballs and brought some snow inside to observe and see how it melted. After our snowballing fun we all enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate to warm ourselves up again. We are hoping for some more snow tonight!
