Year 2 learnt all about being safe on the internet from a lovely lady called Sara. She taught us all about making passwords safe and about being careful when playing online games. Remember the five important things NEVER to give away to ANYBODY online (even if we think we know them!) :- our name, our address, our age, our password and our school name. Do you like the giant-sized keyboard that we used?

This afternoon we visited our friends in F1, which was really special. Our teachers observed many of us joining up with people we know in F1 and showing great excitment about seeing them. We shared our learning together and explored each others classrooms.
F1 have planted runner bean seeds this week as we have learnt the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' We did some instruction writing first and drew pictures for each stage of planting in groups.
First put compost in your cup half full
Next put your seed into the compost
After that add more compost to the cup until nearly full
Then water your seed
Finally put your cup on the windowsill
We followed these instructions as we planted our seeds. We are taking them home this half term to look after and watch them grow.
We also had an honorary star of the week today, our lovely Mrs Swales. Mrs Swales said goodbye to us today, as she leaves to start her new job. Mrs Swales has worked so very hard to care for and teach lots of the children throughout the school and we will miss her so much. Lots of luck in your exciting new job Mrs Swales.

Sharing wow moments helps us to build a picture of the whole child, not just their life in school. We can build on their interests further and tailor learning to individual interests. We also enjoy whole class celebrations of individual's achievements and encouraging each other.
Any special achievement is nice to share on a wow and may include things like doing well at swimming lessons, being kind, learning to fasten their own coat, riding a bike without stabilizers etc. Anything which is an achievement for your child.
The wows are then displayed on the wow trees. Come in and read the amazing things we have been doing!

We had enormous fun making recycled paper out of shredded paper from the school office! Luckily our volunteer helpers Miss Walker and Miss Bateman, together with Mrs Richardson were there to help mop up the excess water! We shall be using the paper to make something special....but that's a secret for now!
